This project creates an opportunity for the visually challenged children to be self-sustainable in their life through education, vocational training, and other basic life skills.
There are more than 1000 blind children in the villages of Bidar & surrounding district under the age group of 5 to 16. It is estimated that, every one in three villages has one blind child without proper care, Rehabilitation, Education & other life skill. Although, the Govt of India has setup special schools in select district, but that is not serving the purpose due to ineffective implementation system and high corruption and also, these schools are located far from the native districts.
It is a residential school and provides Food, Clothing, Health Care and Shelter to the rehabilitated visually challenged children.
The project started in 2003 with 3 blind children in a three room rented building, JPES, through (ADSFB) is able to rehabilitated more than 40 visually challenged children to date.Further, it plans to rehabilitates & educate 100 Blinds by 2011.
