This project is significant because the local people improve their quality of life through literacy. In addition, as volunteers learn from the community, they become potential social entrepreneurs.
In Mexico, illiteracy has been an issue that has never been solved. Focusing on remote communities, lack of education is even more problematic. Our social work takes place- especially in the central region of Mexico- in states like: Michoacan, Puebla, Tlaxcala and Queretaro. We enforce our efforts to provide educational and cultural tools for illiterate people with low resources in order for them to achieve a full development.
This project can be broken down into two parts: 1) Young volunteers are capacitated in teaching methods. 2) During the summer, volunteers teach adults and work in projects proposed by the community. These projects are based on the knowledge acquired during the classes.
Participation and organization around the exercise of human rights in the community. The community values education. Its individuals continue their educational process once we leave.
