Dear GlobalGiving friends,
We are very excited of what your partnership with rural Guatemalan families is doing!!
So far, we have installed 24 filters and 15 stoves with your support.
8 filters and 10 stoves have gone to Jocotán, as we reported last time. Once the demand of filters and stoves for this village was covered, we started working with another community, Pastores.
Pastores is in the highlands of Guatemala. It is a village located by a river. During the rainy season, the dirty waters mix with the clean water, creating huge health hazards. Water comes out of faucets totally dirty.
With your support, we have been able to install 16 filters and 5 stoves in this village, in alliance with each one of you who has supported the project!! Having access to clean water is key for families!!! In Guatemala, contaminated water is the number one cause of children´s death. By partnering with these families, you are becoming part of creating a new story!!!
5 women were also able to buy stoves in Pasotres in partnership with you, keeping smoke out of their homes!!
We are very excited of how Wakami Villages are coming to life, one stove and one filter at a time!!
We want to thank you for being part of this initiative!!! We only have $400 more to go for this first phase!! We hope we can raise this money, and take more families into healthier living!!!
Thanks again,
Maria Pacheco
