Ending Hunger

By a male, 22-30 years old, in Nairobi, Kenya
Map of ENDING HUNGER Hunger has been one of the greatest disaster in Kenya. The fact that some parts of the country are not productive at all, makes it very difficult for the residents of those areas to find food especially during drought seasons. Kenya have been h it by hunger for several times and people have even lost their lives by lacking food for prolonged periods. Attempts by the government to save enough food in the national granaries have failed because there is too much demand for the food, even much more than the food available for consumption. The Kenya Red cross has also involved itself in the distribution of food to the affected persons but people still go hungry for several days and end up taking wild fruits and leaves from the bushes. There is so much need for other organization to come in and help end the hunger crisis. Read more.

Gender Equality.

By a male, 16-21 years old, in Murang'a, Kenya
Map of GENDER EQUALITY. For a long time the feminine gender has been treated unfairly and said to be inferior compared to the muscular gender for example in a certain community in the central province there was a man who had a wife and three daughters. The man used to go out every evening and drink the local brew with his friends and come back home late at the night dead drunk. When his wife wanted to know the reason,he would beat her up until no strength was left in him saying that his wife was a nobody in his home and she could not control him.He also said he was the man of the house and should be respected and not bothered with stupid questions by a mere woman. This continued for a long time until the woman's health deteriorated. The villagers decide to come in and caught the man and took him to their chief. He was taken to court and there after to prison. A Situation For A Hunger To Survive

By a male, under 16 years old, in Kakamega, Kenya
Map of A SITUATION FOR A HUNGER TO SURVIVE My name is Ian Owino.I am 7 years old and now in school. When i reflect on the history and experience of my mum, i cry she has passed through excruciating circumstances. As an orphan who was brought up by a grand mother that was ailing, she had to put up with very unfriendly environment. She is the one whom i must yet rely on to survive. When ACCES came in this year to try and help her to get through her college, it was quite a relief as i knew that the same a venue and a window of opportunity would probably be generously be extended towards myself.ACCES though has limited chances and pushed their qualifications a little to high. They also do not offer a full support . it is my prayer that i will grow with the hope of a bright future and luck by which sponsors will find it convienient to come to offer us support. It is my mother who supports me for all basic needs and quite challenging. Read more.
