Provide clean water to Indonesian survivors



CARE's staff in Indonesia are delivering emergency assistance to Sumatra's Aceh state and capital city Banda Aceh, which were virtually on top of the earthquake's epicenter.

What is the issue, problem, or challenge?

Reports of mind-numbing destruction and an estimated death toll of more than 79,000 people attest to the need for and difficulty of disaster response in this zone.

How will this project solve this problem?

CARE will distributing 200,000 bottles of sodium hypochlorite solution for water purification with buckets with lids and jerrycans in which people can store and safeguard their drinking water.
