Summary
Help rebuild the Kaligathuk Elementary school in Indonesia which was destroyed by an earthquake in May 2006. $40 per year supports one student to attend school!
What is the issue, problem, or challenge?
This school is located in Bantul, Indonesia, one of the most damaged places by the earthquake last May. Three of the school’s six classrooms were severely damaged, and students have been attending school in emergency shelters or unstable classrooms. The temporary classrooms are noisy and uncomfortable but students continue to study and work hard. Reconstructing the school will provide a safe place to learn and play for these elementary school students.
How will this project solve this problem?
Donations will help reconstruct the Kaligathuk school and support the education of elementary school students attending the school.
Potential Long Term Impact
Children will recover from the trauma of the earthquake and continue with their education. Access to education will improve their long term education and income prospects.
Project Message
Let’s keep these kids in school and keep the school alive!
