Community Support On Food Sec

Map of COMMUNITY SUPPORT ON FOOD SEC The group support the community by conducting trainings on farming technics on food security so that they can change on poverty eradication .during planting planting season they work in their forum at individual level aqs mary -go -round style at the end of the season food security is a large.on HIV/AIDS the group has trained 10 members who normally visit PLWA at the village level concerning auditing and counselling on stigma.The group is registered with the ministry of gender & youths affairs at theDistrict/county up tp this moment youths who were idly and drunkard they have changed their behaviour,they're now busy in the forums even some have joined the group as full members. I Believe

Map of i believe rose nasimiyu is a good example of hope that active s we are not sure if we are able to get to face the next day if we can over come the fragments of our lives in days that have remained or the challenges we face on our daily lives. at only 89 years age she speaks so confidently full of energy and to face the milestone ahead oaf her she diagnosed of cancer and a living hope of tomorrow. she has publicized announced her condition and helped change the minds of everyone whom at the mention of cancer would only think death . through out the last few weeks she has been able to create awareness of cancer fight against discrimination, speak on behalf of little kids paying her own bills and of those suffering from cancer . she also has realized a song tittled "i believe" which she uses insipired many people and even challenged most of us not to complain about life but to appreciate life as it is. We Shall Overcome

Map of WE SHALL OVERCOME Since time immemorial everyone one of us has always wished that not at any single day people will judge us by our skin colors but better yet by our status.It haas been a habit that when some of us notice that our friends,brothers sisters or even parents are HIV positive we tend to shy away from them.It is for this reason that community transformation a community based organization in the slums of mathare creating awareness. Community transformers fights stigma and discrimination by informing its community members that if name of us is infected we are in either way affected.HIV is not transmitted by talking,walking or sharing a meal .We should treat the people living withe HIV/AIDS the same way we would treat people living with our parents,sisters,brothers or even friends who need our love,care and most of all our support. Afterall it wouldn't harm just by doing this. Read more.

Hiv/aids Day

Map of HIV/Aids Day The local community elders had all givenup their normal duties on the fateful day of 1st December 2009.Theyhad all asemble at the loacl clinic so that they may be tested and know their HIV status. This was an important step in coming forward to know their status so that the community can combat HIV/AIDS, in the community. Knowing ones status would help live healthy and not indulge in activities that would endanger their lives. Knowing one's status does not have to come with discrimination of those infected but treat them as normal human beings, encourage them so that they may not loose purpose. Read more.

Hospitals Awareness

Map of Hospitals awareness Kenya's hospitals in the past has been a great problem. You may go in and come outsider than the way you were. This has changed now as the Japanes Country have come in to upgrade the status and being of the infrustructures. They have upgraded the wards building it in a way of International standards more wards and cleaner environment for medicine means cleaner and better hygiene for this community. The Kisii level 5 has been highly upgraded that one may think of being in a private hospital. This calls for great thanks to Kenya and Japan partnership. Read more.

Map of SIRI Siri in swahili means secret.There are alot of secrets that surrounds as as humans and its in this programme that we see it all.Its a programme aired at citizen tv every Thursday . Siri Majorly deals with issues to do with HIV/AIDS.Its able to create HIV/AIDS awareness and the importance of abstainance to young teeneger and proper use of condoms use to those who feel that they cannot do without sex.To those that are married 'siri' it encourages faithfulness to the mutual partners. Siri highlight to us how some people still view HIV/AIDS as a taboo.How our innocent kids in our communities are sexually violated.It highlights our reaction when we realize that our partners are HIV+ Better still siri highlights to us the importance of VCT uptake.Its show us our fears our reactions but most importantly what goes on in the VCT centres What this programme has done is create HIV/AIDS awareness and through and through watching it we as the community have overcome a lot. Map of Kibera Life in Kibera slums is different because you find that some girls dont have anybody to atke cake of their lifes.these girls needs to find a person who will provide for them some money for their needs. Sometimes some get pregnant and some get affected with different diseases they start looking for money abott the babies that are nearly to be delivered i would like somebody to look for their lives.coz there well know with communities and to me it will be another way avoiding the infection of HIV gonorias etc. Read more.
