To identify intellectual disability & provide therapeutic services in the low income community to the disabled mothers and their mentally handicapped offsprings through surveys, puppet shows,street play etc.
Lack of awareness access to proper medical care and intervention services for the disabled children, particularly those with mental handicaps in the low socio-economic community of Dakshinpuri. Beneficiaries are children & mothers with disabilities, specifically those with mental handicaps, particularly mothers of children with mental handicaps.
Identification of disability in the lower income group by organizing awareness programs, training programs for mothers of children with disabilities, house to house survey,street plays,puppet show and provide therapeutic services by health professionals and to form Self-Help Groups of women and mothers of the disabled.
Children with mental handicaps will have access to timely identification, and will benefit from services available in their communities and follow-ups at the Center. Prevalence of disabilities should decrease and the target community will be better informed.
