Mary has been involved with the Diabetes Scholars Foundation since it's inception. Mary's daughter Kara was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes when she was 8 and her husband also has diabetes. Mary and her family volunteer with several organizations including Children with Diabetes. She is also on her local school district's education foundation.
