The project is realized by Slovak Scouting.Idea is to create Great Teams in different cities,small peer group made up of 6- 8 children which give them the opportunity to spend their free time together instead of watching television or playing video games. Many children came from broken home;they are threatened by drug addiction on the streets.We are teaching them how to become friends, growing in safe environment, how to fix problems so they might be leaders and positive examples for the others.
Today, more and more children in Slovakia spend their free time by watching television or playing video games instead of going out to the nature. They are threatened by criminality, drug addiction and negative influence on the street everyday. Many of them are part of negative peer group full of aggression, violence and bullying. It is very difficult to find a close person and make friends.
Great teams which consist of 6- 8 children give them a chance to grow up in a safe environment and to spend their leisure time meaningfully. They are learning how to lead a team, to solve the problems, to overcome weaknesses, to express their opinions, to take care of themselves and their needs. We allow young people to cultivate their creative potential, they are able to express what they know.The valuable experiences gained in Great Teams help them to achieve success in life and work.
This project affects about 500 children and many more will profit from programs and activities of Great Teams. They will find friends and bild strong parnterships. They can be a part of peer group with positive influence and inspire other friends or schoolmates. Everyone, who is interested will find in scouting something that he need or likes.
