The International Day for Street Children, in association with AVIVA, will be launched by CSC on 12th April to raise awareness and change perceptions of street children, and to create an environment which will help instigate change in policy and practice. Whilst CSC is taking the lead, The International Day for Street Children is not 'owned' by CSC - it is a day in which multiple stakeholders including NGOs, corporates, schools and the wider public can become involved. CSC aims for the UN to recognise the International Day for Street Children as an official UN Day by year three.
