This project will support the establishment of tree nursery beds, promote the use of energy saving stoves and promote fruit tree planting among families. The project will sensitise farmers to promote tree planting for purposes of not only conserving the environment but to also boost nutrition among children and other family members. The project will partner with Mpigi District Production Department and local leaders to sensitize community members on the dangers of cutting trees without replacing
What is the issue, problem, or challenge?
The majority of households in the area use fire wood on a daily basis either in form of charcoal or the dry fire wood. The community has not embraced energy saving technology and this has culminated into serious destruction of the wood lot. This problem directly affects the child well being especially the girl child who has to travel into the bushes to collect fire wood at the expense of time for other things like school, play and participation aspects.
How will this project solve this problem?
The project will carry out regular sensitization's on environmental conservation and workshops on energy saving technology in two communities, the project will introduce energy saving stoves and many more environmental friendly technology in the vulnerable communities

Progress and development shall be presented to the local community and leaders in a series of meetings and evaluations. This will guarantee that the outcomes and challenges of the project are articulated and shared for informed decision making and sustainability.
