Global Grassroots' Conscious Change Academy provides 12-18 months of conscious leadership and social venture training, seed grants and high-engagement support for grassroots change agents in Rwanda
In Rwanda’s 1994 genocide, nearly 1 million were killed and hundreds of thousands of women raped in 100 days. In the aftermath, women were left to assume the roles of men in mending communities. The poverty and gender inequality these women normally face were compounded by the physical and psychological impact of the violence. As caretakers of their communities, women have valuable insights on social change priorities, yet have access to minimal resources to initiate effective solutions.
Emerging change agents among Rwanda's most vulnerable women will receive 12-18 months of social venture skills training, personal transformation practices, seed grants and high-engagement support to launch their own solutions for social change.
Global Grassroots' overarching goal is to support conscious social change, driven by and for marginalized women at the grassroots level. In 2010, Global Grassroots aims to launch 10-15 new social ventures in Rwanda.
I use consciousness practices in helping those in a difficult situation, so that they may overcome it and become aware of it. After awareness is attained, you become joyous.
