August holiday was very busy for three young people who anxiously wanted to learn computer. Erick Macharia is a student at Kimilili Boys High School in form three who does not learn computer in his school making him distrustful on how he is going to cope with life out of school when he does not have any information technology skills which will help him to access information. This applies to Collins Odhiambo a student at Bwake secondary school in form two and George Nawan a student at Milele secondary school in form one. The three have been introduced to and all the basics in a computer.
These young people come from very local areas where computer is hard to get, but now they are happy to get the services at Tysa. As a result of this, it has seen this young people get access to some of the information which they could not. But this is now possible through the use of internet and other services. Also they are able to share and communicate with the entire world through facebook and email.
One key achievement is where Erick Macharia is on facebook- www.facebook.com/erickmacharia. This young person has shown a great potential in IT hoping that he is going to get quick access to information in any time that he would like to. These have seen a number of young people raise interest of learning computer. It’s our trust that the group is going to impress this training as majority of them will join and learn computer. This is going to see them get more informed as they will do more of learning through research of information. In December 100 children under age 14 will spend 5 days learning computers skills during their annual junior mentorship camp.
