I once again would to like to thank you for the support that you have given us on this project. PAAJAF seriously needs your help to resume this project. Due to the lack of funding to pay allowarces for the facilitators, paying utilites etc, the project has been on hold.
The purpose of the Education for People in Ghana (family learning project) is to set up adult literacy classes that will take place out of regular school hours to tackle the high levels of adult illiteracy that traps families in extreme poverty. The project aims to create an environment in which adult literacy participants bring their children so their children too have an opportunity to learn. This project intends to create generational learning ability for both children and adults in the community in order to increase community togetherness. It is also meant to develop the natural potential of children and their families. By empowering adults through learning, they will be able to pass along the need to learn onto their children and be able to help their children with their school projects and homework. The project will also create an opportunity for parents to spend quality time with their children. Parents and legal guardians will be encouraged to learn together with their children so that they are able to understand the demands of the education system.
Project Reports on GlobalGiving are posted directly to globalgiving.org by Project Leaders as they are completed, generally every 3-4 months. To protect the integrity of these documents, GlobalGiving does not alter them; therefore you may find some language or formatting issues.
If you donate to this project or have donated to this project, you will get an e-mail when this project posts a report. You can also subscribe for reports via e-mail without donating or by subscribing to this project's RSS feed.
Combined with other sources of funding, this project raised enough money to fund the outlined activities and is no longer accepting donations.
