Family Learning in Gbawe Community in Ghana

PAAJAF still in hardship to run its project family learning programme that based on adult education.

The Family Learning is about creating opportunities for families to be creative, have fun and learn together. It can connect generations, strengthen communities and put a match to the potential of children and families. It is an empowering process: parents gain an insight of how their children learn and how they can help their own children at home in everyday activities.

Parents know their children best and it is important to build on that knowledge.   Parents and children spend quality time together and it enables parents to access other adult learning opportunities.  Family including Literacy and Numeracy, helping adult with Reading and Writing:

  • Family Learning enables parents and children to have fun together
  • Confidence and raised self esteem amongst parents and children
  • Improved educational outcomes for children
  • An effective way of engaging parents in their children’s learning and in the life of the setting
  • A first step back into learning for parents
  • Improved relationships between parents and children.

PAAJAF needs help to pay stipend for teachers, buy computers to provide them basic skills in IT and lack of reference book.  Your support is most welcome; you can make a difference from any simple action that you would demonstrate.

Thank you.
