The project through awareness will address the issue of force/earlier marriage, which is being practiced especially in rural Liberia where adolescent girls are deny the right to education and forcibly married to older men at an early age. In rural Liberia, there are traditional cultural practices that strongly affect the wellbeing of girls that serve as stumbling block for rural girl's participation in the educational process of the country as well as posing health hazard for them.
As a result of the 14 years bloody civil crisis, there has been an increases in forced/early marriages in rural Liberia and majority of the girl children below the age 18 are out of school due to the poor financial backgrounds of their parents while others are deny the right to education due to certain traditional cultural practices. mainly for grassroots inhabitants especially the illiterate, semi-literate, literate, adolescent girls but will also include others.
Increase awareness on the effects and dangers of forced/early marriages and this will also help to minimize/eliminate the increase in forced/early marriages. At the end majority of the parents and guardians in the mentioned county will be conscious of the effects and dangers of forced/early marriage.
The reduction or elimination of forced/early marriages among the adolescent girls and 600 persons will be affected.
