Summary
Help us raise awareness, dispel common myths and allay fear about people with Down syndrome in the Colombian Caribbean coast through an informative campaign that will promote inclusion in our society
What is the issue, problem, or challenge?
There are more than 2000 persons with Down Syndrome in the Colombian Caribbean coast. Lack of information about Down Syndrome in our Society has contributed to make them the perfect target for educative, social and labor discrimination. Outlooks can be difficult to change and it will not happen without a message reinforced over time. For that reason, this campaign remains an ongoing priority.
How will this project solve this problem?
The purpose of this project is educating people about Down syndrome. Our goal will be accomplished by an internal taxi advertising campaign, an advertising billboard, school information programs, mall stands, and workshops for teachers and doctors
Potential Long Term Impact
Nothing we can do as a Foundation will have more impact in the lives of the 2000 persons with Down Syndrome of our region, than working to improve public perception and awareness of society in general.
Project Message
The worst handicap for people with Down's syndrome is society unawareness. Be informed
One makes the difference.
