Coins 4 Kids: You Can "Fill the Cup"
The Red Cup is a Symbol of Hope
The World Food Program (WFP) uses red cups to distribute school meals. Each cup is filled with nutritious food staples, like soya, cereal and beans. When you fill a cup with change, you can feed a child for an entire school year and give them a chance at a brighter future.
School Meals Tackle Gender Inequity
School meals encourage poor households
to send children to school and keep them there.
Programs often target girls, enabling them to gain an
education even in societies that traditionally exclude
them from schooling.
Supplementary Benefits
Schools are the centre of many villages and communities. School meals connect teachers, parents, cooks, children, farmers, and the local market.
A Simple Solution
A daily school meal provides a strong incentive to send children to school and keep them there and allows the children to focus on their studies, rather than their stomachs.
Your Impact
In 2011, WFP provided school meals to 25.9 million
children in 60 countries. We need your help to do it again.
