Coal Dust Briquettes for Nature Conservation

BEEJ will promote coal dust technology for conservation of natural resources in 20 villages in Balochistan to provide economic, social and environmental benefits to the poor inhabitants in the area.

What is the issue, problem, or challenge?

Musakhail is the most backward district of Balochistan. Majority doesn’t have clean drinking water, electricity, physical infrastructure and education facilities. Women cover long distances on foot to collect fuel wood. They will be provided with environment friendly coal dust technology. This will reduce green house effect, preserve forests & provide better economic conditions. The cost of fuel will be reduced from Rs 68/day to Rs 38 saving Rs. 30/day for these low-income families.

Potential Long Term Impact

-Batter environmental condition -Improved condition of women of the area -Creation of job opportunities -Green house effect minimization -Awareness raising about environmental protection -Improved living conditions reduction in poverty
