Summary
This project is helping orphans and other vulnerable children in Uganda affected by HIV/AIDS and poverty by meeting needs in emergencies such as distribution of cloths, blankets, mattresses, insecticide treated mosquito nets and scholastic materials.
What is the issue, problem, or challenge?
The children we are trying to help don't have anything. Through a needs assessment, we found a lot of children being looked after by their grandparents (if they are lucky) or more likely one grandparent usually their grandmothers. The reason for this is usually that both parents died from HIV or in some cases one parent died and the other just abandoned them with their grandparents. The children live in appalling conditions without the basics of life every child has a right to expect.
How will this project solve this problem?
We are struggling to undertake home-based child care services that include meeting needs in emergencies such as distribution of insecticide-treated mosquito nets, blankets, mattresses, cloths and scholastic materials.
Potential Long Term Impact
We will reach out to more than 200 hundred children by providing them the necessities that a child deserves during child life.
Project Message
Every child has a right to decent life they need support and care.
