Dixie Bickel - Orphanage Director/Founder/R.N.

Dixie is the orphanage director and founded GLA with her husband John in 1994. She has over 30 years experience as an R.N. in pediatrics and intensive care nursing. Dixie and John are originally from Illinois, have 5 children (two of them adopted from Haiti) and 6 grandchildren.

Susan Westwood - Charge Nurse - God's Littlest Angels Neonatal Intensive Care Unit

Susan is an R.N. from Scotland who is in charge of the day to day operations of our Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. Prior to coming to Haiti in 2008, Susan has spent significant time working in orphanage settings in other areas of the world, including South Africa. It is Susan's job to supervise the care that the children at GLA get if they are sick.

John Bickel - Facilities Manager

John is the Facilities Manager for GLA. He keeps very busy keeping all of GLA's buildings and equipment running and working and planning the new orphanage up at Ft. Jacques. John worked for 20 years in the telecommunications industry before moving to Haiti in 1991 with Dixie and their family.
