Thanks to all of your generous donations, over 1,000 children and villagers will soon have clean, safe water and hygiene education in Taek Village in Siem Reap, Cambodia! The project site has already been prepared by the local community and is ready for the AquaTower installation to take place on July 1st.
The AquaTower, along with our Water-Health & Hygiene education program, will be deployed at Taek Primary School, located in the center of Taek Village - which is comprised of just over 1,000 people. The AquaTower will provide the students, teachers, and community members clean, safe drinking water and nine handwashing stations for their daily use.
Taek Village is the first of two impoverished communities we are fundraising for. The local residents in both villages earn their income by climbing palm trees to collect palm juice for making sugar to sell in the local areas. Neither village has access to electricity or clean water. Sok Nha, school headmaster, told us, "Our students do not have access to clean water at school or at home. The most wanted thing, and highest priority for us here is clean water - it's more important than having electricity."
Stay tuned for more pictures and video of this project after the first AquaTower is installed on July 1st. Thank you again for all you have done to help this cause. Please consider telling your friends and family about our project and what it means to you.
