Project Personnel

J. Kim Chaix - Director, The Charcoal Project

Kim launched TCP in 2009, after two decades as a reporter. From 2004 to 2009, he was at The Nature Conservancy and chaired a task force on climate change. Kim studied biology and attended the Graduate School of Journalism at Columbia.

Sylvia Herzog - Chief Operating Officer, The Charcoal Project

Sylvia joined TCP at the end of 2010, to manage TCP's on-the-ground projects. She has a background in banking and finance with a MBA/MPP/BA from the University of Michigan.

Henry Twinemasiko - Director, Rubaare Educational Foundation

Henry is TCP's principal partner in Rubaare, as Director of Rubaare Educational Foundation, a school district that provides education, room, and board to about 1,650 school children. Henry is a strong leader and a source of inspiration to the children, staff, and broader community.
