Transforming Lives

Map of Transforming lives The poor housing and rapid development of slums and shanty houses has magnified itself in Kenya.It is upon this reason that the U.N Habit made efforts to solve it in kibera. In the first round,close to 3000 people were resettled from Kibera's soweto slum and relocated to new houses in Raila area.The houses are served with electricity and water.Moreover, the rent is 1200 Kenya shillings that can be easily afforded.The level of sanitation as well is very high. However,the programme needs to be refuelled since a large percentage of kiberians live in poor conditions:no clean water,poor sewerage and improper drainage. Read more.
