Our library is up and running and we continue to fill the shelves. As we continue to grow at Ambergris Caye Elementary School we find new ways to utilize our library. This year our library is also hosting a Standard III class of students as we have grown beyond the capacity of our classrooms. So, for those of you who have donated to our library, your money is doing double duty!
Our student body now consists of 93 students and we can proudly say there are no more blended classrooms. Every grade has its own room, even though we are having to use the library as one of the classrooms. Still, the shelves are filling to capacity and students from other classes are able to come to the library during breaks, lunches and before and after school to use the facility as a library.
We are growing and are looking for more opportunities to serve the children of San Pedro. Look for our new project on our Global Giving site which will allow you to help send a child to school! There is no better cause than the education of a child, help build a brighter tomorrow! Give now!
Our classrooms are complete and filled with students and our library is complete with a nice conference table, and two computer stations. This year the students have made good use of the space that has been provided for them through this project. We want to thank everyone for their continued support of Ambergrice Caye Elementary School (ACES).
Now, with the additional funds we will raise through this project, we will continue to fill the shelves with books and purchase projectors for the teachers to use for more stimulating lesson plans for the children. This has been a very successful project and as we grow and move forward we will keep you informed of additional ways you can help. Look for our new project coming soon in which your donation will go toward supporting children who cannot afford to go to school. You will be able to give directly to a student's tuition to ensure they get a good education.
Thank you all for everything you do!
Our new classrooms and library have been a wonderful addition to our school this year! We want to thank everyone who has helped this project by donating. It is because of people just like you that Ambergris Caye Elementary School even exists. We have been able to set up the library with two computer stations where children can research online and learn to use the technology. The library shelves are beginning to fill with books opening up the world of literature to our students!
Next we are working on the purchase of new audio visual equipment to provide the school with a PA system for events and fundraisers. Additionally we would like to purchase a projector to help provide our teachers with the technology to bring visuals into the classroom providing a more stimulating lesson plan in the classroom.
Again, we thank everyone who is helping. We hope to have this project fully funded before the end of this school year and move forward with other projects on the agenda.
Our classroms and library are up and running! The beginning of our school year has been a huge success with two new classrooms and library fully functional. We have been able to furnish both classrooms with chairs desks and whiteboards. Each classroom has air conditioning to make the learning environment comfortable in the tropic climate.
We have been able to set up the library with two computer stations where children can research online and learn to use the technology. The library shelves are beginning to fill with books opening up the world of literature to our students! We have a conference table where children can study or do research and this also doubles as a meeting area for our Board of Directors. Directly off the library are two small administrative offices where I and my Administrative Assistant have been able to finally set up real office space! Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!
Living and working out of corners and sections of classrooms and lunchrooms for the last three years has been challenging at best! We now can claim our own space...:). The huge steps forward we have taken this year has been through the generosity of people like yourself! We cannot thank everyone enough. This year our goal will be to enroll 500 recurring donations of $25.00 each. This will make our school fully sustainable and we will be able to offer free school to those who cannot afford tuition! Please consider this option of giving!
Happy Holidays to everyone! Thank you all for making 2013 our most successful year so far!
Thank you to everyone!
Our first project with Global Giving has been a huge success. What started out as just a small project to see how the program ran and how it would suit the needs of our school turned out to be a huge success. We raised $10,620.00 for this project. The building itself was constructed with funds donated by other donors, however we still faced the huge task of filling our library shelves with books, computers, purchasing audio visual equipment and projectors, furnishings, etc. Now, through the help of everyone who has donated we will be able to face the task at hand and bring a much needed resource center into the realm of reality.
Our little school is growing and thriving because of people like you, who have given to such a worthy cause. Educating our children, to me, seems to be the meaning of life. Why else do we exist but to ensure the future....education is the means by which we are able to secure the future. Our next project will secure the future for our school. Purchasing the rented land the school currently sits on will help secure the future of children on this island for generations to come.
We will continue to report on how our library and classroom project fulfills our dreams, as we are able to purchase the much needed items with the disbursement of funds over the course of the next month or so. Look up our new project when it appears on our site in the next few days. Consider how you are going to give and make a difference in the future. Sometimes it is human to see all we would like to see changed, however the only way it will change is if we act upon it. Make a change in the future...help educate a child, become a sponsor or a monthly donor.
Thank you all from my heart,
