The earthquakes that hit Chile in early 2010 left farming families without homes, loved ones, clinics, schools. This Fund supports short & long term efforts to help rural communities to rebuild.
As a result of the massive earthquake, aftershocks and tsunami that struck in early 2010, working family farmers have lost homes, loved ones and community infrastructure. For many living in tents and with winter approaching, shelter has become a real issue. These are rural communities who have lost some of life's most basic needs and services.
The Chilean Family Farms Fund seeks to help people to rebuild homes, communities, schools and clinics so that they may get back on their feet.
Hundreds of people have been displaced and are surviving with only the bare essentials of life. The goal is to get these hard working rural farmers back to normalcy.
