The project will create a set scheme of visiting pediatric departments in hospitals of Omsk and Omsk region, Russia by volunteers. Children will be more happy and their chances for restoration to health and strength will rise.
What is the issue, problem, or challenge?
Very often children have to stay in a hospital for a considerably long time: courses of medical treatment may last from one to six months and even up to eighteen months. And during all this time children are surrounded by bleak walls and people in white. But they are eager for festive occasions, joy, talks with friends. We're going to make children smile more often and forget about all worries in the walls of a hospital.
How will this project solve this problem?
The project will create positive atmosphere for children which can improve conditions for their recovering. Volunteers will teach children new things about the world and also children will learn to communicate with other people.
Potential Long Term Impact
We need to establish agreements with local government agencies about the visits of volunteers, especially with pediatric departments of Omsk hospitals. Somewhere any workshops for children can be hold, somewhere theatrical sketches, somewhere outdoor games - it all depends on the type of institution where it all goes. The project may also include not only the limits of the city but also the areas so volunteers can travel to various villages, settlements and regions.
