Lance started his career as a teacher in the School District of Philadelphia where he was highlighted in The Emergency Teacher, a book about urban teaching. He has worked as an Executive Policy Specialist at the Pennsylvania Department of Education and is currently Vice President of Learning Communities and Instructional Implementation at Discovery Education.
Martha started her career as a teacher in the Chicago Public Schools and later moved to Philadelphia where she taught and served as a school administrator for over 15 years. She has been a classroom teacher, ELL teacher, guided reading facilitator, team leader, eighth grade sponsor, summer program instructor, GEAR UP program coordinator and drama club sponsor.
Combined with other sources of funding, this project raised enough money to fund the outlined activities and is no longer accepting donations.
