Soil Erosion

Map of soil erosion Soil erosion is the act of removing top soil by either wind or floeing Hamisi district at aplace called serem.They have been soil erosion which really cost many people not having enough food seens the top nutrient had been carried away.This are the practices that the village practice to support soil erosion they were burning vegetable cover which expose the soil to agents of soil erosion.They ciltivate along the river side.You could find that onehas 60 animals at a small area.They could cut trees without planting. Is when we realised as students that this people were misled.They did not understand on method of preventing soil erosion.Using school knowledge we planted corer covers.WE also practiced reaforestaion and build terrace and told them to avoid cultivating along rivers and also we bluid Gabbions where gulley erosion had occured. Fighting For The Rights Of People With Disability

Map of Fighting for the rights of people with disability Me as a person with disability I was born in a family of seven and was alone in this situation. In our family I was never recognized by family members not even my parents. They looked at me as a burden and never even bothered to take me to school. I hard of an organisation that is fighting for the rights of people with disability. I went there and was taken to be part of them because they have other people they offer prevention and care to them. They train them, support the orphans, provide computer training, buy uniform and pay school fees. I was enrolled in training computer and also employed in the same organisation. So i have a job at the same place doing very well and also supporting the people with disability. Create awareness to the community to support them and not neglect them. i support my family too and has been a lesson to other people. Read more.

Group Initiative, A Tool For Enhancement Of Education/ Social Affairs

Map of GROUP INITIATIVE, A TOOL FOR ENHANCEMENT OF EDUCATION/ SOCIAL AFFAIRS I am Irene Akhonya's daughter in std 5. Irene is the treasurer of Usife Moyo Women Group in Kakamega Central district. I knew of this Group's efforts in contributing to the development of women's affairs especially those infected or affected with HIV Aids and widows in Emusala area. Although my mother is not HIV positive she was part of the machinery that worked to implement the idea being a teacher who saw the people that suffered in the community. She has also benefitted, borrowing funds from the Group, which has even assisted me to go to school. We have been able to also boost our income generation courtesy of this Groups funds. It is an initiative that hooks up with prudents accurately. Read more.
