Stop the Silence is moving forward with our advocacy programming and other on-the-ground programming to support CSA prevention and survivors' healing locally and throughout the world in partnership with others like the Moira Anderson Foundation in Scotland.
Child sexual abuse includes actions from voyeurism to rape. It usually happens over an extended period of time by someone close to the child. It is occurring in pandemic proportions (60-80 million survivors in U.S.). It often causes grave physical, psychological trauma. Stop the Silence increases awareness & provides support, information, and healing support through safe, creative, accessible venues like the Stop the Silence-inspired play, To Kill A Kelpie
Stop the Silence increases awareness, knowledge and understanding through innovative programs like the Stop the Silence-inspired play To Kill A Kelpie by Scottish playwright Matthew McVarish (see www.ToKillAKelpie.com) and the Race to Stop the Silence (see www.StopCSA.org/race) and educates and trains service providers and community members through programs, schools, houses of worship, community events.
Unless societies throughout the world can face & address CSA, it will not be stopped. We bring CSA out of the shadows and into the light worldwide by providing community members a way to learn, share their thoughts, and protect others.
You did not deviate from the goal [with Talk Around the Clock]. It focused on child sexual abuse & went on for hours, non-stop! It is a new innovation. It connects the world and fights this epidemic.
