Kevin Dowling, MA, joined CARES Northwest in 1994. Before becoming executive director in 2001, he was supervisor of the intake & administrative support staff, a child interviewer & an intake counselor. His experience in child welfare includes five years as a therapist at Oregon Health & Science University's Children's Psychiatric Day Treatment Center. His Masters is in counseling psychology.
Leila Keltner, MD, PhD, has served as medical director of CARES Northwest since 1998. She joined the team in 1988 as a staff physician and has also served as associate director and interim medical director. She is founder and director of the Child Abuse Prevention Team. In addition to her doctoral degrees, Leila holds a Masters degree in biometry and an undergraduate degree in child development.
Combined with other sources of funding, this project raised enough money to fund the outlined activities and is no longer accepting donations.
