He is a former senior advisor to the US Congress, Freedom House and Lawyers Committee for Human Rights. In 2003, his AAI grassroots Development for Peace in Sulu project in Muslim Mindanao, Philippines received a Presidential Citation. He is an expert on inter-cultural development.
