Help set up an Integrated Rural Art Center to train 100 poor and vulnerable Ghanaian women, physically challenged, unemployed youth on rural Arts to help establish their own income generating business
In Ghana it is wrongfully put that the best place for women is the kitchen. Women especially in the deprived communities therefore become vulnerable to stress, depression and other emotional hazards. Also most youth in our rural communities have been denied access to quality and affordable education. Hence they turn out to be drop outs with no future and therefore indulge in all manner of social vices like armed robbery. The physically challenged is also neglected and have no access to jobs.
Beneficiaries would be trained for a period of 3 months on local Ghanaian Arts including Beads Making, Leather works and Textiles (Batik, Tie and Die). The beneficiaries would be provided material assistance to start their business after the training
Artifacts sold from this project would also help raise additional funds to help train additional 100 beneficiaries each year even after this project period is over to help eliminate extreme poverty from the deprived communities in Ghana.
