20.06.2011: Being one of the first organizations to step into the field, Fatima Memorial Hospital in collaboration with Nur Foundation has been providing rehabilitation and relief work since the day the disastrous flood affected Pakistan.
On both occasions of Eid in the country, FMH - Nur Foundation has sent out Eid packages for the flood victims. These Eid packages contained small tokens for the whole family. It essentially consisted of food items, basic kitchen utensils, clothes and shoes for the family, and even toys for the children. Although being an extremely small gesture, this package immensely uplifted the spirits of the flood victims and helped bring joy back into their lives.
To date, FMH - Nur Foundation has helped to enhance healthcare facilities and provisions in the flood affected region, a primary school has been established with the assistance of locals in the region of Haebat Mastoi, Dera Ghazi Khan, and moreover micro finance opportunities have been established through Akhuwat Foundation. Interest free loans have been disbursed out which have provided immense support to locals in starting up small businesses and ensuring them to stand on their own feet once again.
As promised, we will keep bringing you constant updates concerning the flood relief activities of FMH - Nur Foundation. Do keep visit Global Giving for further information.
