Our Efforts to Date

01.04.2011: Once again, Fatima Memorial System will be keeping all our valued donors up to speed with Relief & Rehabilitation efforts being done by Fatima Memorial Hospital - Nur Foundation.

Even though the event of Eid is over for this year, relief work for the flood affected area of Pakistan has not ceased. It will still take several more months to rebuild the disasters caused by the heavy flooding which occurred in the summer of 2010.  FMH - Nur Foundation is working actively towards the rebuilding the lives of the flood affectees.

On both Eids, eid packages containing clothes, shoes, toiletries, food and toys for children were sent out. These packages were highly successful in bringing forth joy to the flood victims. Furthermore, hundreds of winter quilts were also bought thanks to donations from our generous donors and were sent out to help flood victims to help combat with the fierce cold weather.

In continuation with the flood relief work, FMH- Nur Foundation has also formed collaborations with The Eisaar Trust & Akhuwat which deal with educational and microfinancing aspects respectively. Akhuwat has launched a branch in Rajanpur through which they are giving out small interest free loan in order for locals to establish small businesses and be able to stand on their own feet. This scheme has been operating extremely well, and regular payments are now being received by Akhuwat. Nur Foundation has been regularly disbursing payments to Akhuwat which are further translated into interest-free loans for the flood affectees.

Moreover, with help and support from The Eisaar Trust, FMH - Nur Foundation has set up a Primary school in Haebat Mastui which has been operational since October 2010. Currently, 400 plus students are regularly attending classes and monitoring & evaluation activities are being controlled by Educational specialists at FMS.

We are planning to continue relief efforts in the Dera Ghazi Khan region in terms of the following; reconstruction of housing, primary healthcare centre, VTI development, primary education and so forth. We will keep you up to speed with our progress through this forum. Please do keep visiting Global Giving regularly to obtain updates.  Once again, we would like to thank you for your generous donations!
