A Extraordinary Story

Sokha

Hello CCEdFund Family!

Thank you so very much for your continued support! We continue to provide scholarships to amazing but impoverished Cambodian students to attend school. It is hard to believe, but we have been providing scholarships for over five years! So much has changed in Cambodia since we started our urgent work, but so much has remained the same for the nation's poorest children. Despite an influx of development capital, the reality remains that the pooret students have no access to education. So, please be confident that your donations to CCEdFund are making a real impact in students' lives and that your dollars are used directly for scholarships.

In Cambodia, our students continue their Khmer and English studies at our partner schools. With over six partner schools, we are proud to report that we continue to provide scholarships for students to attend their perfect fit school. Are you interested in learning more about our schools, volunteering for one of our initiatives, or getting involved in other ways? Stay in touch: info@ccedfund.org

10x10/GirlRising
In the past, we have shared stories about our students and their struggles.  As you may recall, we shared a story about Sokha who grew up on a garbage dump. We were so amazed by her when we met her in 2008 outside of Phnom Penh in a shelter that rescued her from the dump. Now, her extraordinary story of survival growing up in poverty, moving to a children's center, and receiving a CCEdFund scholarship is being shared globally in a new documentary called Girl Rising. We highly encourage you to go see the film, continue donating to support her scholarship, and share her story with friends. In fact, you are able to host a screening of the film through Gathr if you want to get others together who care about girls' access to education too.

Marine Corps Marathon
We are thrilled to share that CCEdFund is again a charity partner with the Marine Corps Marathon in Washington, DC this October. Are you a marathon runner? Are you someone looking to do an amazing first marathon? We want YOU! Join our team to help send amazing kids like Sokha to school! We have 25 guaranteed spots in this race which sold out (again!) in under 3 hours. You train and raise $650 and then run in an inspiring race in our nation's capital.

Be well until we write again and stay in touch! We love hearing your suggestions, thoughts, and stories with us about expanding access to education for our world's children.

Warmly,
Carrie and Jennifer
