First, thank you so much for your past support. Your donation has allowed us to buy the much-needed ingredients for over 100 nutritious breakfasts and hearty lunches. Everyday we serve nearly 100 children from 80 families. Because of your generosity, moms drop off their children at Casa de los Angeles knowing they will receive a nutritious breakfast and hearty lunch.
In our last report, we introduced you to Ana, our cook, and how she is always smiling. She’s still smiling! Ana is not only our cook but one of our moms. She makes every meal with a smile on her face and love in her heart. Casa de los Angeles is more than a daycare, more than a community center, Casa de los Angeles is a family. Thank you for being a part of our family.
"This has become our home away from home. We feel like part of a large family. I am so very grateful.” Imelda Juarez, Casa de los Angeles Mom
Mother’s Day is next weekend so consider giving a special gift to your mom – a gift that gives back. Your gift to ‘Feed 150 kids for a year” allow us to serve breakfast and lunch to our kids a for about 40 cents per day per kid.
We have raised $13,401 (that’s lots of tamales, milk, oatmeal, beans, sandwiches, vegetables and fruit). We are just $1,599 away from our goal of $15,000. Help put us over the top. Make a gift in honor of your mom! Sure you can give a box of chocolates or a bouquet of flowers but this year surprise her with a gift that gives back.
Make a gift. Feed a kid. Make a mom smile!
You are an angel!

PS. You don't have to celebrate Mother's Day to make a mom smile. Support the children and mothers of Casa de los Angeles and help us reach our goal!
Our project, Casa de los Angeles - Feed 150 kids for a year, is very close to our goal of $15,000. Each and every week day we are able to serve breakfast and lunch to all of the children in our daycare center because of the generosity of people like you. That means more than 300 meals per day when we count our staff, moms and volunteers!
Ana, our cook, is always smiling. When I asked her why she smiles so much she answered that it is because she knows that what she is doing at our center helps our children to thrive. Another little thing to know is that we never run out of food! There is always enough for those who would like second and sometimes even third helpings. I think it is a miracle that Ana can figure out just the right proportions to make sure everyone eats until they are full.
On behalf of everyone at Casa de los Angeles, thank you for being a part of the work we do; for helping to make a difference in the lives of those we serve. I realize that you can choose to make your donation to any one of the great organizations that exist, so I thank you for chosing Casa de los Angeles!
The year 2013 has been a great one for Casa de los Ángeles! In the past year we have welcomed over 135 volunteers from 14 countries, we have had over 150 children in our care, and more than 370 donors have helped us continue our mission of caring for children so that mothers can go to work.
In September of this year we became a member of the GlobalGiving community. Our project of providing breakfast and lunch to all of our children is off to a great start. We are about half way to our goal of $15,000 because YOU have given, because YOU have confidence in the work we do. So, we want to say thank you for being a part of this important work. We thank YOU for your donation. Your donation makes a difference in the lives of those we serve.
Enjoy our thank you video. We have created it for YOU!
Casa de los Angeles is thrilled to officially be a part of the Global Giving community. During the September Challenge 58 donors helped us to raise $7421 which will be used to help feed the families that we serve. The generosity of these donors brought us to about half of our $15000 goal.
At Casa de los Angeles we serve breakfast and lunch to our almost 100 children and some of their older siblings and moms. About a month ago 17 year old Monse came to us with her two children Ivana age two and a half and one year old Quetzali. She can now rest assured that her children are well care for while she is at work. During the day Monse is able to join us for lunch when she has her break from work.
In the next months it is our hope to complete the $15000 goal which will provide meals to everyone in the Casa de los Angeles community for a full year!
