Summary
This project will train 450 founders, staff and volunteers who work for grassroots nonprofits in Africa in areas such as education, healthcare, former child soldiers rehabilitation, and agriculture.
What is the issue, problem, or challenge?
Many grassroots and community-based nonprofit founders in Africa have great visions and good intensions. Unfortunately, these founders and their staff and volunteers often lack the technical skills they need to implement those visions with efficiency and effectiveness to engender maximum service to society’s poorest. Through this project, OPDI will provide such skills to said nonprofits and also ensure they work transparently and accountably to both their beneficiaries and donors
How will this project solve this problem?
Customized technical skills training will be given to each person in the following areas: program planning, budgeting, accounting principles, bookkeeping, management skills, good work ethics, grant seeking, fundraising, and customer service
Potential Long Term Impact
This training project will ensure that recipients become more efficient and effective in rendering essential services to Africa’s underprivileged. It will also help them to become more transparent and accountable.
Project Message
Although the entire training package was good, I found the Budgeting and Bookkeeping courses particularly useful. Also I really appreciate the learning materials and certificates given to us.
