Empowering families of the disabled in turn empowers the disabled themselves. The project aims to provide goats to 50 families of visually challenged children of Asha Deepa School for the Blind.
Most of the parents of the visually challenged children are daily wages laborer who works in the agricultural field for less than Rs. 30 per day. This is not even sufficient for their family member’s square meals. As a result these parents end up with earning their day’s bread and never save anything for their disable child for the future use. Thus there is a need to empower the parents of the disables to access basic level of economic and social security by providing additional option.
By providing additional income option to these families will help them to earn extra income along with their regular income. Further, they will be able to improve their family asset since each goat will give two-three kids in every six months.
One goat can change a families's life and a community’s potential; a family earns extra income, save for their disable children, and creates additional assets for future use.
