Victims needing medical assistance in Burma will receive treatment from trained medics at clinics powered by solar electricity. Previously, night surgeries had to be performed using flashlights. Green Empowerment has brought lighting and equipment to the clinics, and will perform maintenance and trainings in order to keep the clinics fully functional and able to serve as many people as possible.
We will provide small photovoltaic (PV) systems to clinics. We will provide training for the surgeons, medics, and repairmen to keep the systems operating, and to install and relocate the systems as required.
Total Funding Received to Date: $572
Remaining Goal to be Funded: $13,728
Total Funding Goal: $14,300
This project has provided additional documentation in a JPG file (projdoc.pdf).
Electrification means that there is lighting for medical procedures and power for medical devices. This results in better treatment for victims of the conflict along the Thai-Burma border and for patients affected by malaria and other illnesses.
Our dream 10 years ago was to have some kind of lighting for these clinics. And when we did the first clinics last summer, I could only hope that we would be able to do some more.
