Mission

Ñepi Behña supports rural women to develop their businesses with equality, dignity and sustainability. Ñepi Behña promotes and supports the economic, social, and cultural projects of organizations of indigenous and rural women living in poverty with the aim of improving the quality of life for their families, communities, and regions.

Programs

Ñepi Behña supports women’s organizations in two regions of the State of Hidalgo, Mexico. Ñepi Behña provides assistance with production, marketing, and micro-finance strategies, and trains staff in environment, gender issues, and sexual and reproductive rights.

Adriana Welsh Herrera - General Coordinator
Adriana began working with rural and indigenous communities when she was 17 years old. Adriana has dedicated her life to promoting rights and welfare of indigenous communities, specifically women.

Magali Arce Saavedra - Representative of Board of Directors
Magali has lived in Mexico City all her life. Magali founded Ñepi Behña, AC. This is an organization led by women whose focus is to work with indigenous women with a gender perspective and in social and economic aspects. Magali works on microfinance strategies, databases, training in the organization and administration, to develop and market products under a Fair Trade philosophy.
