Salva Dut fled Sudan's civil war in 1985, when he was 11 years old. He became one of the "Lost Boys" of Sudan. He was resettled in Rochester, NY, USA in 1996, thinking that his family was gone. Upon hearing that his father was alive, he went back to Sudan. His father was gravely ill from water-borne disease. Salva resolved to drill wells for his people and began "Water for Sudan" in 2005.
Combined with other sources of funding, this project raised enough money to fund the outlined activities and is no longer accepting donations.
