Summary
Install a Sewage Disposal and Sanitation System at the Apam Hospital
What is the issue, problem, or challenge?
Continue with a sanitation project started in 2007 in the town of Apam. The hospital has no system of disposing medical waste. The current system of disposal is to bury medical waste and sanitation is very poor. Without an adequate sanitation system at the hospital and at the nearby school, it becomes difficult to break the cycle of bacteria borne diseases.
How will this project solve this problem?
Have a team of American Volunteers travel to Apam in 2009 to work with Ghanaians to install a sewage (waste water treatment plant at the Apam hospital
Potential Long Term Impact
After a successful implementation of a sanitation and sewage system at the hospital and school, we will have a working model to develop a sewage system for the town of Apam.
Project Message
