Our children are writing a great letter to you

Complete wall
Complete wall

I know you would love to hear the news:

We’ve had progress in the construction project you are funding in Mpigi, Uganda, your generous donation has enabled us to complete the orphanage wall including tying on the concrete ring beam to help hold the walls strong, this week the veranda columns will also be fixed and surely we will be done with the walls!

“Am glad we will be shifting to our new property soon, I will be sleeping in the first room, it’s cool, it’s nice” Patrick

“I can’t wait to see the projects that are going to be done on the property, especially the chicken and water projects that will benefit both the children and my community” Local council 1 chairman Kitaanula village where the orphanage is located

“Our donors are doing a great job, three of them have given to the project more than two times which is great and two of them have volunteered to be our ambassadors in the USA, one ambassador mobilized her friends and family to donate on the Globalgiving bonus day that took place on February 12th” James-Project leader giving progress report to the staff during the executive meeting

Now that we are done with the walls, we are beginning on the roof, good news! We have funds enough for the roof timber, roofing nails and labour but we don’t have iron sheets, this is a rainy season, our engineers have advised to fix iron sheets as soon as possible to avoid weakening and collapse of the walls due to heavy downpour. It takes seconds for the building that has taken one year under construction to collapse but only six generous people will save it from collapsing, if we could only get six donors to commit $200 this month, the roof will be fixed immediately and we will save all the dollars we have injected in this project.

Our children are drawing great pictures and designing a letter with your name in it, if you will give $200 to this project this month you will receive that wonderful letter with colored pictures as a gift of appreciation!

Donors that will give from March 20th  to April 6th   will receive the children’s gift of appreciation, Isn’t it great?

We are almost there

We make sure children are safe
We make sure children are safe

Dear partners,

So, Yes! I know God is blessing us.

I confess that there have been times when I wasn’t 100% sure that we would raise $480 this January.

And yet, in His mercy, has still shown wonderful grace to us.

You see, I set a goal for us to donate $500 in December.

And there have been times when I wasn’t sure it would happen.

But when I see how much we have given since the beginning of last year to  date, $4652, which helped us build up to beam level, I am now confident that we will finish what we started.

There’s still time! We are almost there!

All of us have already given, some of us are recurring donors, and for those who haven’t signed in as recurring
donors can also sign in to give monthly, thank you in advance!  There are only 14 days left to the end of this
month (January). All we have to raise is $1825 to finish the roof!

And you have proven your generosity before. I know you will be generous again.

When you give, you make sure that the HIV/AIDS infected and affected orphan kids in Uganda have the same benefits other kids have all over the World.

I’m counting on you to do your part.

October report

Olive, she is now attending school
Olive, she is now attending school

I trust this Newsletter finds you well and that your life has been going well.

I am sending this Newsletter so you know what we have been up to lately and what to expect in the months to come.

Every time a new donation is made, I ask myself what kind of appreciation words to send you, it’s too exciting, and I have realized that although our donors are all different, they have one thing in common: each one of you inspires us.

Since you are now part of our family, I want you to know what is happening in the family, OK.

I hope you take a few minutes and read the report below:

All the children are going to school, and of recent we picked another child in the bush, Olive was living with her old grandfather and looking after cows, she was not attending school and she had lost hope, Olive is now attending school and living with a new family that we linked her to, her hope has been restored! While monitoring her progress and school performance, we found her reading the Alphabet in her new class,” I can read, I can write
and I can sing” said Olive! No one knows when she was born, she is an orphan-but approximately she is eight years old, her favorite colour is green, and we will be shifting Olive home after we have completed the new home we are building, there are many more children like Olive that need some where to call home, many
that need to access school but have no opportunity.

Mountains of hope completed the first phase of the orphanage building structure, this means that the next step is the roofing phase, which is now the easiest phase, as I was talking to the engineer, I thought he was joking but he meant it, he said the next phase required $1500 and I told him to give me time to think about it, I have thought about it and I know you will help me think about it too, as a family, let me pose a question: what can we do to raise the $1500 to complete the roof?

Remember, after completion of the building, we will shift in there, all the costs that used to go for rent will now be channeled to the child feeding, health and education.

As you know, I have only sent this Newsletter out to a select few people, those that have helped us in the past and those that are still helping us, so am really counting on your part, every penny counts

Best regards

James Malinga

We are moving

Hi,

How has been your day? Greetings from Mountains of Hope Children!

Thanks you once again for the support you sent towards the construction of their home.

We have now concrete stones and sand, and we are ready to put up the ring beam and concrete this October!

We are counting on you to raise the $4000 during this October 9th GlobalGiving bonus day; Globalgiving has provided $25000 in funds for matching for all projects that raise through their site, matching is at 30% per donation made. Mountains of Hope is looking at this as the only best opportunity to raise the remaining
funds to finish the roof, floor, water system and set up an income generating project to sustain the home, we are posting updates on our Facebook page and if you haven’t yet liked our page, you are kindly requested to do so, thank you!

Remember that only donations made early before funds run out are eligible for multiplication, most projects have set their donors to donate by midnight and very early in the morning on that day, once funds have run out, your donation will not be matched at 30%, the earlier the better, we go!!!!

It will be an exciting opportunity to watch your donation grow!

Project update

Greetings our dear friends,

We hope you are doing well, thanks a lot for the construction support you send to Mountains of Hope Childrens Ministries.

Achievements for this quarter:

Purchased 5 tons of half inch concrete stones and 2 trips of sand for the construction of the orphanage ring beam to keep the building strong.

Supported an orphan family with an LG refrigerator with support from one of the Australian family, Rose a mother to Judith who is our orphan sold fruits in streets of Mpigi but had no refrigerator to preserve her fruits always made losses, she used to make $2 a day, right now she makes $ 46 and she has been able to take on her child and even pay school fees and requirements

Our plan:

We plan to continue raising money through Global giving site, we plan to raise $4000 during this October 9th bonus day, GlobalGiving will match every donation made per individual at 30%, we request you to like our face book page  because its where more details and success stories will be recorded, like it here:https://www.facebook.com/pages/Mountains-of-Hope-Childrens-Ministries/328493500992
