Summary
MADRE and our local partner organizations in Palestine are responding to the escalating violence in Gaza by bringing urgent medical care to injured civilians, particularly women and children.
What is the issue, problem, or challenge?
As military strikes in Gaza intensify, civilians are being killed, and many more are being wounded and need urgent medical relief. Women and children in Gaza were already vulnerable, and now the area's medical and sanitation infrastructure has been further weakened, putting more lives at risk. Hospitals that are chronically under-resourced and out of reach for many are now even less accessible. Emergency health care workers are in urgent need of medical supplies to treat the wounded.
How will this project solve this problem?
MADRE is raising funds to send to our partner organization so that they can buy desperately needed emergency medical supplies, including every type of blood, sterilization kits, needles, anesthetics and catheters. MADRE's local partners can deliver emergency care in affected neighborhoods where the need is greatest.
Potential Long Term Impact
Emergency medicines and supplies in this crisis can literally save lives. Providing care now will better equip Palestinians to weather the crisis and rebuild their communities in the future.
Project Message
My children and I are afraid to leave our home. If someone is wounded, it will be too unsafe to travel to hospitals. We need help now.
