A Bitter Experience As An Orphan

By a female, under 16 years old, in Kakamega, Kenya
Map of A bitter Experience as an orphan My name is Irene Khalitswa. To be an orphan is like being sentence to a life sentence/imprisonment.I felt a victim of such circumstance in 2006 when through the problem of Aids ,lost both parents.(we being 3 children) found ourselves hopeless and headed towards doom. i was very lucky in 2009 when Hope in Zion children's center gave me a chance to get provided with basic needs.Their commitment to take me to school was proof enough that God had really chosen to take care for my life.I have since get saved and i find God's promises always working .I trust that God will provide sponsors to help home to continue helping many more children. Mrs Jane

By a female, 46-60 years old , in Busia, Kenya
Map of MRS JANE Mrs Jane was one woman who had so much pains, bitter and anger in her heart.this made her even hate everyone and frustrate her children so much. One time i visited her as a friend and tried to help her.so i asked her the reason for her bitterness, anger and pains.she started to cry and sob bitterly as she remembered and called the name of her husband.i asked her how her husband was connected to her bitterness and the story she told me was so heart breaking. she recalled those days when she loved her husband out of a true and sincere heart.having gone through a lot of stigmatizing events with her husband she never ever thought that her husband would ever betray her.she remembered a time when her husband had got an accident and was paralyzed on one side.she helped him with everything, bathing him and feeding him.Jane spent most of her salary on treating her her and she even took her to conferences and crusades for prayer and it was through one of the crusades that her husband got healed.later the husband got a good job that was well paying and things stated to change.her husband started to spent nights outside and coming home with women.this went on for a long time until they finally separated.it was difficult to convince Jane to let go the anger, bitterness and pains but after a month she accepted to forgive her husband and today they enjoy their marriage and are in deep love. Once A Hero, always A Hero

By a female, under 16 years old, in Nairobi, Kenya
Map of ONCE A HERO,ALWAYS A HERO I recall that fateful nigh vividly as if it all happened yesterday yet it was the year 2007.We were awakened by screams and curiosity drove my mother, brother and out of house .Little did i know that hell had broken loose and we had just put our head into the lions mouth. No sooner had we gone on our heels than my brother was attacked by a crowd of armed men. People were fighting just in the name of supporting their leaders after suspecting rigging had occurred . Darkness covered all over as we ran,as fast as our legs could carry me ,not knowing where we were going nor where my brother was.We found ourselves at Jamhuri ground and surprisingly we werent alone. Soon our title was internal displaced persons and given tents to camp there. However ,God is never too far since he sent the Red cross who donated food and clothes e.t.c. They advertise my brother through media and through Gods help, my brother was found as fine as a fiddle. Through the Red-cross organisation we were also advertised on television and within a blink of an eye we had resettled.I hope Kenya of tomorrow will have more people like Red cross, and even more reasonable citizens who wont fight because of political differences.Once a hero always always a hero, is what the Red Cross organisation will always be to me as their kindness will forever stay in my mind like a printed book. The Is Hope And Potential Always As A Working Tool

By a female, 31-45 years old, in Kakamega Central, Kenya
Map of THE IS HOPE AND POTENTIAL ALWAYS AS A WORKING TOOL My name is Peninah Mukabane. I have stood with women in the affairs of development since 2002 to confirm good outcomes with the change on lives of many women who now have a greater hope and self esteem. Women are widowed and some are infected which previously worked down so many of them and they were dying rapidly. Our group has embraced networks full of enhancing the potential in women, enriching their capacity in production, (income generation) and offering funding opportunities through table banking initiatives, merry go round hence opening up the closed minds of most of them. I have been able to do a lot of personal promotion in life by borrowing funds, and investing in projects that have not disappointed me at all. My status is far advancing mainly for the reason that I am in Usife Moyo Woman Group. Given support by well wisher, donor, we may offer a powerful solution in our community. Read more.
