Summary

The future of the world lies with healthy reproductive of women and girls yet they are fast perishing due poverty and HIV. Educated women and girls have power to make informed decision and participate in developmental activities. educating girls is removing poverty in community. supporting PMTCT is reducing mortality and morbidity saving mother and child. We are strengthening the capacity of women through skills and survival training so they can depend on themselves.

What is the issue, problem, or challenge?

High number of girls dropping out of school, getting pregnant and being infected with STIs and HIV. Orphans living alone with no clear source of income. High level of social stigma and discrimination affecting orphan girl child. No sanitary wares for young girls resulting in them using unhealthy means. Young HIV-ve mother infecting their unborn babies as they deliver at home due high maternity and clinic fees. These challenges have affected women and girls and expose them to the risk of HIV

How will this project solve this problem?

will retain 325 girl child in school and support them with sanitary wares. train 150 girls in income generating and survival skills. Will help 500 HIV pregnant young girls who wanted to terminate their pregnancies because they are HIV-ve access PMTCT services and medical support. The project will deal with stigma challenge through social activities for young people. The income generation project will ensure vulnerable families headed by girl children can sustain themselves and reduce begging.

Potential Long Term Impact

Educated girls will have equal opportunity as their male counterparts, they will effectively participate in decisions that affected their present and their future. dependance increases the risk of vulnerability of women and girls, girls will marry when mature both mentally and physically after completing their careers. Community income projects will take care of the less privileged. Our young girls feel inferior when their privacy is not cared for, they quickly loose confidence and self esteem.
