What is the issue, problem, or challenge?
The main problem is that a large number of visually impaired persons don't have an opportunity to go to school and receive education. Ignorance of the parents and family members, several discouraging myths, scarcity of resources and lack of information are the predominant factors that prevent the children from going to school. In addition the special equipment and teaching material such as Braille books CD Player are expensive that discourages the parent to send their blind children to school.
How will this project solve this problem?
This project will provide an opportunity to the outstanding students to showcase their talent which in turn will encourage the gathering to motivate these children and to donate generously. The funds collected from this event will be utilize to furnish basic Educational facilities and equipments to the Blind students and will be motivated to pursue their education resulting in employment and self dependence.
Potential Long Term Impact
This project will provide facilities such as Braille Books, Uniforms, CD Players, Audio Books and other support services to those students who lack behind on account of inadequate and no resources. This will give confidence to other children and parents to send them to school. This will ensure appropriate education of all blind children. As whole nation is struggling to achieve the target of Education for All, this project will ensure inclusion of blind children in educational initiatives.
This project has been retired and is no longer accepting donations.
