Summary
During a 1 year period, volunteers will complete the canteen, toilets, 3 classrooms and train youth of the community in alphabetization and entrepreunership. They will furnish a library for the kids.
What is the issue, problem, or challenge?
This pilot project addresses the need for education in Cote D'Ivoire’s rural areas. Without basic education & a literate population, it is extremely difficult to address issues of health, poverty & hunger that plague these communities. As a result of this project, 450 children will have a healthy & safe learning environment & a reduced class size from 80 to 50. The improved & expanded facility will also allow for continuing adult education and improve skills & better employment opportunities.
How will this project solve this problem?

Potential Long Term Impact
The renovated school will give the children the opportunity to study and grow up in a healthy, safe and stimulating environment, which is essential for their education and personal development, as well as, for acquiring important social skills.
